Warm Spiced Pear Crumble

Filling Ingredients

  • 2 pears, washed and roughly chopped into squares
  • Handful of blueberries
  • 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla paste or powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 Tablespoon plant-based butter, to grease the baking dish

Crumble Topping Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 80 g oats
  • 20 g hazelnuts
  • ½ tsp allspice
  • 30 g plant-based butter


  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Add all the filling ingredients (except the butter) to a bowl and stir gently to incorporate.
  3. Add all the crumble topping ingredients (except the butter) to the Vitamix blender jug and pulse for a short time, until the hazelnuts are ground down but still have some texture. Empty into a bowl, add the 30 g butter and mix together using your hands to combine.
  4. Grease a medium-sized baking dish with butter and add the pear filling mixture to the dish.
  5. Add the crumble topping and put it in the oven for 45 minutes.
