Ingredients
- 160g whole coffee beans, roasted
Directions
- Place coffee beans into the Vitamix container and secure the lid.
- Coarse grind: Start on the lowest speed, then quickly increase to Variable 8. Blend for 8–10 seconds until the texture resembles coarse salt. Ideal for French press.
- Medium grind: Start on the lowest speed, then increase to Variable 8. Blend for 15–20 seconds until the texture resembles breadcrumbs or coarse sand. Ideal for pour-over or drip brewing.
- Fine grind: Start on the lowest speed, then increase to Variable 8. Blend for 20 seconds. Stop and scrape down the sides. Secure the lid and pulse on Variable 8 until the texture resembles table salt or granulated sugar. Ideal for espresso.
- Use immediately for best flavour.
Recipe Notes
- For maximum flavour, grind whole beans just before brewing.
- Freshly ground coffee should be stored in an opaque airtight container at room temperature and used within 1–2 weeks.
- This recipe works with between 160g and 240g whole coffee beans.
